They got some epic photos especially from the most epic swell that hit Fiji; Cloudbreak in July of 2011.
That was the 50 year storm/swell spoken of that hit 49 feet on the charts when it hit Tasmania, and caused Kelly Slater to skip the J-Bay ASP event this year (2011) in order to catch this epic swell at Fiji.
Check this photo out on Magicseaweed.com article about that magical swell in July. Stu got the most incredible photo of Alex Gray on a bomb at Cloudbreak, Fiji here:
There website blog is here: I got this photo from Stuart from a more “normal” day at Cloudbreak:
About Magicseaweed Data Sources (as you may have noticed I place great faith in 🙂
From their website: Every six hours we gather all the available forecast, wave buoy and weather station information for the next eight days. This includes the NWW3 wave forecast model and the GFS weather forecast model. These models are produced by the NOAA and are used for their national and international weather forecasts. Also, magicseaweed.com built a software system by their team using some of the latest available modelling tools and the nearshore forecasts created are available only here.
Regarding Stormpulse.com They are awesome for tracking Hurricanes, TD’s, all animated in a very engaging webpage interface that you have to check out!
