At Johnson Avenue Surfers, I hope to capture the personalities of the folks that live just North, just South and on Johnson Avenue in Cape Canaveral that like to surf, or just plain enjoy watching us surf out there.

Hey, if you want to search the site for surf pictures on a certain date, surf break, big-wave video or whatever, we had a SEARCH BOX on the bottom of the page, and there is also a CATEGORY DROP DOWN MENU on the bottom of the page also to make your search of the site easier.  Okay back to the intro stuff below;

We have a few old timers , over 60 that bring California, Hawaii and a bunch of other flavors to the surfing at the end of our street.

We even have a couple of local Surf Legends that live just North and South of us.

We have middle age guys like myself that like to see how many times I can smash the water with my face under the excuse that I’m trying new moves.

Young female surfers that put us to shame in many ways, but we don’t worry about it too much, cause they’re real friendly and great help at keeping the attitude mellow out there 🙂

Anyhow, we hope to provide surf pics, videos and the personalities of the folks who live and surf here, along with an ocassional visitor from down south, when the surf is to big and choppy for them to get out.    We welcome them as most of them seem to know the surf etiquette that we use up here at the Cape.

Also, I’m in a continual learning curve on this trying to predict surf.  A person I respect greatly is Ross at CFLsurf.com because they understand storm and weather patterns learned over the years to a level much greater than I do, and he therefore interprets data pretty consistently correct. A record I could only hope to achieve.  I love numbers, data, stats and that’s why I’m obsessed with this stuff. Anyhow,   I just hope to fill in a few cracks here along the way.  Forgive my mistakes.  (thought I’d mention this since new guys always run out of the gate too fast 🙂

    Great Blog Art. Good to meet you in the gym the other day and thanks for the local knowledge tips. Had a surf yesterday at Hightower Beach at low tide and it was good fun with my longboard. Hope to see you in the water one of these days.
    Good Waves Mate,

      Yeah, we’ll get a session there real soon.

      Glad to see that a person can come from Spain and easily be spoiled by the waves over there, and yet can make the transition with a smile, with the surf we have over here.

      We’ve been very fortunate to actually have consistent waves here for the last 3 summers, which in Florida, we normally don’t have summer waves…until the Hurricanes.

      See ya soon out there.

      It should be good with light onshore winds all day tomorrow, Wednesday. The best time for you to get out, will be the middle of the 2nd high tide going low around 4 PM.
