We have a very cool, unique group of Surfer friends in the neighborhood.ย  And I felt rather obsessed to share the still images and video that I have shot the last few years of as many of us as I could.

I apologize that 3 or 4 people, I was just not around, to get as much photos or video as I could, and in some of the photos, I was forced to shoot footage directly into the Sun, which can definitely degrade the photo or footage.ย  But with that said, I do hope y’all enjoy this, I tried to create in a way to bridge the Young and the Old ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the Opportunity,

THREE YEARS IN REVIEW VIDEOย  of Johnson Avenue Surfers will be live on January 1st, 2014, yeah tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

My apologies for not sharing any reports for the last couple of swells we have had;ย  as Y’all know, my main focus, is to share the Awesome Talent and Efforts, of those that surf from around the Neighborhood, by catching them on Camera or Video.ย  This may be at the endย  of our street, the Jetty, the Cocoa Beach Pier, Satellite Beach and anywhere in between.

It’s taken me 70 or so hours to compile this baby, so that’s why I’ve been away from sharing any updates, and we all know that Surfline, Seaweed and Ross are there for that purpose anyhow ๐Ÿ™‚

I will post the Video sometime New Years Day or tonight if I finish in time.ย  The Surfers present are Chad, Don, Dr. John, Sunny, Me (Oldwaverider), Chuck, Chris (Orlando), Joe (Boston), Lacey, Mike (my buddy from Lakeland), Dave (Sunny’s dad), Scooter, Ron, Tim C., Dennis (Core Surf),ย  and Paul (Jeremy’s kin and the Emu Bird Man).

I apologize if I missed anyone, and if I did, and you know I have footage of you, let me know, and I will update the final Video.ย  The Soundtrack part will be provided by Bob Marley, Guerilla Jazz of Hawaii (I hope) and perhaps one other artist.ย  I tried to use the Shins, but they have the U.S. blocked from using their copyright, so the tunes may have some change if YouTube lets me know.

Thanks for letting me capture the Great Times and Awesome Talent & People in sharing this compilation with You!

Happy New Year, and Be Safe ๐Ÿ™‚

An early drop-in by Lacey on one of the waves of the day ๐Ÿ™‚ Image 1 of 10 shot sequence.

Lacey Gallery 1st ten photos.ย  Today was a beautiful day at J-Ave!ย  The waves were Chest high, some smaller, some bigger, with unexpected offshore winds past 8 AM, and unexpected sunshine.ย  The next swell moving in was supposed to throw 20 mph NE winds by 8 or 9 AM, but our Awesome Creator (God ๐Ÿ™‚ย  gave us an extended window of the whole neighborhood out in the water at some time or another.ย  And our typical Boardwalk Commentators put in a little overtime, just to make sure everything went well, and so that all of those participants that shredded at least one wave, were commended at least once ๐Ÿ™‚

The first sequence is of Lacey (if misspelled i change it in the title later:) ), which which was done in 2 part, because as she dropped into one of the waves of the day, I was shooting right into the Sun,ย  the camera had to time-out for 2 seconds after 6 shots, and then I

managed to pull 3 or 4 more shots on the same ride, but out of direct sun, and as she was getting closer to shore.ย  It ended up being like 10 shots from the same wave, and if you look at the longboard on the sand, and how it re-positioned with the guy next to it,ย  the span of her ride had to be close to 100 yards give or take.ย  Just an awesome ride by Lacey, her style of takeoff, form and grace on that one!

The next sequence is of Chad, on another of the bombs of the day, and trying to maintain a stance of modesty from his growing talent, he kept his re-entries in this chest to head high wave slightly conservative, so as not to frustrate others who are still learning to Surf ๐Ÿ™‚

Sunday Surf; expect big overhead chop with 15 to 25 mph winds from the East.ย  Probably head high plus at the Cape and 2 to 3 foot overhead down South in Satellite Beach.

I hope y’all enjoy the photos, and I apologize that I had to have the zoom out so much, but I literally could not see anything thru the viewfinder because the sun was so bright, so the best way to even get 4 or 5 pics in a sequence, is to have the zoom way out so you don’t have to move the camera too much.
