Sunday morning, great chance of big , clean overhead ground swell! Posted Saturday 8:30 PM 05/02/2015

Sunday morning, down south , expect big waves 🙂  Very steep angle swell, so the Cape and even the Pier, may only be half the size of Satellite Beach, due to being blocked out.  What’s my prediction?  Well, if it was offshore winds, then I would say, we could see some close to double overhead faces in Satellite.  But, since it should be 6-8 mph ne winds at daybreak,  I believe we will see some 1-3 foot overhead faces, with a few 4 foot overhead faces by 9 am.  It looks like a ground swell, as it hit the 120 mile buoy at 7 pm tonight, 6 feet at 11 seconds.  High tide is 8 am , so try to hit dawn patrol!

Have fun, and be safe !

Friday morning, 3/20 is looking ripe for waist to rib or chest high and glassy! Posted 3/18/2015 around 10:25 PM

Friday morning for the 3rd day running looks to have waist to rib high plus glass until mid-morning, maybe noon.  Kinda like this past Monday down south 🙂

Sunday morning, March 15, we may have some waist to rib high glass :) Re-post of Johnson Avenue Surfers Video of 3 years in Review – Posted Thursday, 03/12/2015

Sunday morning we may have a nice windswell with glass.  We’ve had wind swell all week, but we may get some distinct offshore winds and have waist to maybe chest high glass down South.

Those of you that haven’t seen the Video I posted a year ago or so, called “Johnson Avenue Surfers – 3 years in Review”,  I share it below.

This was a video of some local surfers/friends 10 or so people, with 5 soundtrack songs by Bob Marley and Guerilla Jazz, from Maui.  It’s long, but that’s so we could get everyone in here.  Young and Old surfers, from Cape Canaveral, The Pier, and Hanger near 2nd Light.

Enjoy!

Chest to head high Monday morning and clean conditions! Posted Sunday night 10:15 PM

Monday morning early, is looking fun!  The call is waist to chest at the Cape to the Pier, and chest to head high in Satellite Beach !

Winds 3-5 mph North, so slight offshore from 4rth Street North to the Cape.  And onshore in S CCB and Satellite Beach, but with light onshores, it should be clean and almost ground swell 🙂

Have a fun Monday Am, the winds will pickup to 7-12 from 11 am on, so get out early!

Strong groundswell piggybacking the windswell we just had the last two days. Posted 11 PM Tuesday night, 02/22/2015

Strong groundswell piggybacking the windswell we just had the last two days.  7-8 foot ground swell hits 120 buoy, and just hit 6 feet at 12 seconds,at the 20 mile buoy at 9:50 PM.  The winds are over 20mph at the 120 blowing west, so we’ll just have to see if it holds the swell back, or if it fully comes in 🙂

The winds show to be 2-4 mph NNW switching around to East, and not increasing until 11 AM or so.

It’s worth doing dawn patrol to catch some chest high glass again.

Tuesday will be bigger than Monday, and now offshore! Monday Night, February 23, 9:15 PM Surf Report and Forecast for Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach and Satellite beach surf report (posted 02/23/2015)

Today the swell definitely dragged it’s feet coming in, but I did get some awesome South CCB thigh to rib high 50 to 100 yard peelers and not bad on closeouts either, you could pick walls that held up.  With brisk 12 -15 mph West winds.  The lefts were really nice, and actually some were throwing even right.  Lots of fun. But……………………….  Tuesday ;

Yes, Tuesday is now looking solid offshore, and I believe Rib high plus at the Cape, some Chest high sets at the Pier, and some Chest to Shoulder high sets in Satellite Beach!  Winds, start WNW at daybreak 2-4 mph , Sweet!  By Noon, may 6-8 mph WSW, and it may push up to 10-12 plus in the afternoon swinging around W to NW late afternoon.

Get excited!  This is a surprise and a Gift 🙂

Video of Paul at Hightowers today, a nice Coverup and Exit! 8 foot to double overhead EPIC waves today! Friday should be fun but NNW Winds, Thursday , February 12, 9:30 PM Surf Report and Forecast for Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach and Satellite beach surf report (posted 02/12/2015)

Today was none other than epic in Satellite Beach!  8 foot to double overhead faces, I have lots of Video footage.  Some Awesome talent out there today 🙂

Surf update, below video!  It was amazing the difference today between the Pier which was rib high this morning at 6:45, and in Satellite Beach it was 10 foot plus faces at 7:15, turning double overhead by 9 or 10 AM

Video below of a guy Paul that I met on a nice 8-9 foot face or so, with a nice Coverup, and working the wall!

Paul’s Coverup on a Nice 8 foot to Double Overhead Day from Art Hansen on Vimeo.

A double Overhead ride below, same day, same time:

Friday, should be chest high plus at the Cape or Pier, and probably 1 to 2 foot overhead plus in Satellite Beach.  The winds are looking NNW in the 8 to 15 mph range, so surfing North of 4rth street North is your best bet.  NNW is onshore in Satellite Beach.  Still, should be fun waves!

Saturday should be chest to shoulder high, North going South respectively with more direct offshore winds 🙂

I will be producing a Video from the 70 video clips I shot today of the Awesome talent at Hightowers.

Friday morning is looking rib to chest high and glassy, not a ground swell but close, and fun! Thursday Swell still on Track! – Thursday , January 8 11:15 PM Surf Report and Forecast for Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach and Satellite beach surf report (posted 01/08/2015)

Short for now 🙂  Friday morning looking rib to chest high and glassy Friday morning with WNW winds in the 4 -7 mph range.  The winds will be offshore earlier in the morning down  South in Satellite Beach.  Also, this swell is so steep as a NE swell, 24 ° today, and 40 plus degrees Friday, so my guess, is the Cape won’t even look like there’s waves hardly.  The pier may or may not even hit waist high.

Satellite Beach or at least second light may be necessary to get where the swell is not blocked out by the Cape.

Swell drops fast in size all day, and is biggest Friday before Noon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I will be posting a video soon of the December 11th day, which was after the huge day of the 7 day Big Noreaster Swell!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Those of you kind enough to be in front of the Camera, surfing great or surfing marginal like me,  I hope to have some footage of you from December 11, 2014 when we had some 5 to 8 foot faces.  I will post a couple shaky clips of 10 to 12 foot faces from the day before.

Sorry I couldn’t shoot any footage from the nice Sunday , 12/28 5-7 foot face swell we had.  But maybe some of you are in the December 11th Noreaster Day.

Maybe I’ll make it a 5 or 6 minute video and have a bunch of short clips of attempts, instead of just the longer rides or specially talented folks.

I’ll work on it between now and the weekend, and post it as a last 2014 video.

Thanks all of you for being friends out in the water.  Hightowers has a special place in my heart, LOL

Happy New Year!

Sunday morning Ground Swell still on Track! Sunday morning down south could be big and semi or even glassy! Friday 12-26-2014 10:45 AM Surf Report and Forecast for Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach and Satellite beach surf report (posted 12/26/2014)

Sunday morning is still on track for being big and powerful!  Well fairly big, but definitely powerful 🙂  The swell is to be 3 feet at 14-16 seconds, and I posted the Period (not swell size, but the period chart) Chart to show you how uniform and perfectly spread out the size (width and height of the swell in area of the ocean) of the swell is.

The ground swell comes in Saturday night, and by daybreak Sunday, we could and should have chest to shoulder high plus waves, biggest down south, as this is an East/Northeast swell so the Cape and Pier does get blocked out some, and as of two days running, the winds look to be South to SSW in the 3 to 6 mph range, up until maybe 10 AM, and then goes back South.  South of say 6th street south, that means slight offshore, and in Satellite Beach, that means even more offshore.
